PADI Open Water Certification Course Structure:
1. eLearning
After joining an Open Water Group Lesson or a Flex Open Water Class, you will recieve your PADI eLearning. The eLearning will teach you the fundamentals, terminology, and safety measures of scuba diving.
2. Confined Water (Pool Classes)
Next comes the fun part! You will meet your classmates and instructor at a local Columbus pool to practice the skills of scuba diving. Practicing in a pool under the guidance of your instructor allows for a safe and controllable enviroment to build confidence. Confined water classes are typically scheduled once a week and completed for four weeks. Though our Flex Open Water Class allow flexible scheduling for those with less consistent schedules.
3. Open Water Checkout Dives
Finally, open water check out dives! For the open water portion of the class, you will practice the same skills under the supervision and guidance of an instructor building confidence in a real world scenario. Upon completion, you will receive your PADI Open Water Scuba Certification!
Checkout dives are scheduled and purchased separatly from the confined water dives. You have the option to complete your open water dives with Columbus Scuba during the dive season (May-October), or we will provide you with an endorsement that allows you to complete the open water checkout dives with any PADI dive center globally.
